Draw controls are so important in women's lacrosse. Today Colorado had 17 to VT's 8. You can almost point to this one stat alone to understand the outcome. But if you want to add to this you can't win without taking shots on goal. VT had 11 shots on goal today. Colorado had 26. These two stats sum up the game.

In general, watching the last two games VT seemed to play much slower than JMU and Colorado. Speed is so important and it just doesn't look like VT has it right now. Both JMU and Colorado played great defenses -- quick to slide and simply cut off shooting lanes.

As one poster noted we don't seem to have a lot of scoring threats. I like what I'm seeing from Paige Petty, Emma Crooks, and Grace Nelson. However, VT's offense seems vanilla and the off-ball movement was not as good as JMU or Colorado.
